About the Artist

In 2010, a mother’s desire to keep her 3-year-old child creatively engaged and socially connected sparked the first Artsy Craftsy event in Bangalore. What began as a simple kids’ art class gradually grew into a mission that has inspired and impacted thousands of children, parents, and art lovers over the past decade.

At the core of this journey is Kanchan Yadav, a political science scholar from JNU, Delhi, who courageously chose to step away from the conventional academic path to pursue her passion for art and education. While art was once just a childhood hobby, it soon became her true calling and a medium to create change.

Over the years, Kanchan has taught and mentored more than 10,000 students, nurturing creativity, imagination, and confidence through engaging art experiences. Today, she is an accomplished art educator, widely recognized for her innovative approaches in curriculum creation, where art is seamlessly integrated into holistic learning beyond traditional methods.

In addition to teaching, she is also known for her expertise in customized paintings, creating distinctive artworks that reflect personal stories and spaces.

Through Artsy Craftsy, Kanchan continues to champion the belief that art is not just an activity but a transformative journey of expression, discovery, and connection.
